Our Story
The Uckfield Mini Grand Prix began in the year 2000 as a ‘Pedal Car Grand Prix’ with seven hand-made pedal cars, some small trophies and less than 30 spectators!
After the first few years, there was a link with Uckfield College who made the event ‘go electric’. In the years since it has grown into a popular and successful annual event.
For two decades this has been a highlight of the summer term for these children. Now more than 20 local schools take part and over 1000 spectators come to watch.
The Cars
The cars themselves are bought by the schools. The cars are Goblin IET Formula cars.
The pupils build or re-build the cars each year as a technology and engineering project.
